"Missions is the overflow of our delight in God because missions is the overflow of God's delight in being God."

"God is pursuing with omnipotent passion a worldwide purpose of gathering joyful worshippers for Himself from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of His name among the nations. Therefore, let us bring our affections into line with His, and, for the sake of His name, let us renounce the quest for worldly comforts and join His global purpose."

- John Piper (Let the Nations Be Glad)

 MISSIONS

Christ Community Church affirms the definition of missions to be any endeavor outside our local congregation that fulfills the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, making disciples and gathering these disciples into local congregations, while relating to the needs of the total person (spiritual, physical, emotional and social).

The Missions Committee is responsible for:

Providing the focal point of the missionaries we support, providing encouragement, guidance and direction for congregational members who indicate a desire to enter the mission field, recommending additions and/or deletions to the list of missionaries we support, and providing guidance and support for short-term mission trips that are taken by members of the congregation.

**Short Term Mission Trip to New Orleans!  We are partnering with Urban Impact Ministries once again with another Short Term Mission Trip to New Orleans.  The departure date is October 18, returning on October 24.  To provide enough time for planning on each end of the trip, interested individuals will need to commit to the trip by September 6.  Please contact Pat Butcher at 910-255-6006 or 443-223-1917 for more information.

David and Sherry Bohn - David is the head of Entrust(4) (Formerly BEE International).  Entrust is called to assist the church in responding to the global cry for servant-leaders through accessible, transformational, biblical training.  The overall objective of Entrust is to continue to multiply, as rapidly and systematically as possible, the growth of healthy, servant-oriented, New Testament church leadership.  Entrust reaches out to the church leaders where the need is greatest.  We currently serve in Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and are pursuing opportunities in other regions.

Gerald and Frances Mitchum - Christ Community Church is the sending church of Frances and Gerald Mitchum who have been serving in Mongolia since 1995.  The ministry there has expanded from a tiny group of students meeting in their apartment to a team of over 50 committed young professionals reaching out to over two-thirds of Mongolia...with plans to reach the entire country for Christ.

Jim Young - Capitol Ministries - Capitol Ministries is singularly focused on establishihng biblical ministries in State Capitols throughout our nation - and eventually the world - in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ within the political arena, at every level.  The motto of Capitol Ministries is delivering the gospel to every state legislator, in every State Capitol, every year.  Reaching elected officials and leading them toward maturity in Christ is our primary focus.

Judy Hill - Serving in Mission (SIM) - SIM is a community of God's people who delight to worship Him and are passionate about the Gospel, seeking to fulfill the mission of Jesus Christ in the world.  The purpose of SIM is to glorify God by planting, strengthening, and partnering with churches around the world as we evangelize the unreached, minister to human need, disciple believers into churches, and equip churches to fulfill Christ's Commission.

Bill and Debbie Gibson (Child Evangelism Fellowship) - CEF is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization, composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living.

Mike & Emilie Gibbons - Mike and Emilie are EFCA missionaries to France, living in Toulouse.  The EFCA International Mission exists to glorify God by multiplying healthy churches among all people.  Mike and Emilie are heading up the Toulouse City Team, whose current ministry project is that of doing evangelism with the goal of planting a community of Christ-followers among Toulouse's urban center.

Phil and Cindy Fisk - EFCA Missionaries to Belgium - Equipping and training nationals who will serve churches as pastors as well as serve as cross-cultural missionaries.  This will be through the Leuven Evangelical Theological Seminary in Fladers where about 200 students from around Europe (Belgium, Netherlands, and Eastern European countries) and South Africa come.

Urban Impact Ministries - has been serving at-risk youth and their families in the Central City of New Orleans since 1989 when Glen Schrieber first started playing games with the children in the New Orleans housing developments.  Its mission is to transform the people of Central City New Orleans through: Spiritual Development, Christian Community Development, and Strategic Ministry Partnerships.

Young Life of the Sandhills - Young Life seeks to carry the message of Jesus Christ to adolescents and point them toward life as they were created to live it.  Since 1941, the dynamic that has characterized Young Life is its commitment to relationships - Young Life leaders meeting kids on their turf in the interest of friendship.  As leaders get to know teenagers, they are able to share the love of Jesus Christ through platforms like Young Life club, Campaigners and trips to camp.
